Dr. Timothy R. Eberhart is the Robert and Marilyn Degler McClean Associate Professor of Ecological Theology and Practice at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, where he directs the Center for Ecological Regeneration. He teaches in the areas of theology and ethics, concentrating on the relation of Christian doctrine to ecological, economic, political, and social change theories and practices. Eberhart earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate School at Vanderbilt University, his Master of Divinity degree from the Vanderbilt Divinity School, and his B.A. in Religion from St. Olaf College. His publications include Rooted and Grounded in Love: Holy Communion for the Whole Creation (Wipf and Stock, 2017), The Economy of Salvation: Essays in Honor of M. Douglas Meeks (Wipf and Stock, 2015), and various chapters on mission, ecclesiology, and ecotheology. His upcoming book is titled God In All Things: A Wesleyan Ecology of Salvation. He is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church (Dakotas Conference), a trained permaculturalist, UMC Earthkeeper, and North American Co-Chair for the Oxford Institute of Methodist Theological Studies. He, his spouse Rev. Becky Eberhart, and their 17-year old daughter Audrey live in St. Paul, MN, where they enjoy permaculture gardening, hiking, cheering for MN sports teams, participating in the Creation Collective class at Hennepin Ave. UMC, and staying in touch with their two sons, Frederick (22), who works for the Boston Red Sox, and Henry (24), a second-year student at UCLA Law School.
